Invisible Prey by John Sanford
An old widow and her live-in maid are brutally murdered, some stuff taken from the home, and some left but trashed. The reader finds out early in the book whodunit, and the story revolves around Lucas Davenport and his buddies finding the killer(s). He’s also working a sex scandal involving a politician (big surprise) and a teenager. More rich old people are found murdered. The killers have most details worked out, including how to frame someone else for their dirty deeds. They even devise a plan to distract Davenport from the murder cases. And what do quilts have to do with all the killings? Of course, our hero puts it all together eventually.
