Kill Me If You Can, You SOB by Bobby Miller

The more I read of Miller's work, the more I like it. Like Hunter S Thompson, Miller is a born curmudgeon, cynic, and rebel. I cracked up when his commander described him as "he'll never make general but he'll get you there and back." No grunt ever had a truer, more unconditional friend. This memoir hit particularly close to home for me as it detailed the author's experiences as a warrant officer chopper pilot in Phan Thiet, Vietnam from May '68 to May '69. A tip of the hat to Bob Miller. --Ejner Fulsang, author of "A Knavish Piece of Work" Aarhus Publishing 2006 More:

I'm really looking forward to reading your book. I lived in Phan Thiet for more than 2 years and I'm hoping to go back shorlty. I've driven past the site of the old LZ Betty many times, and I am alway interested to learn about what went on there and the men who served and died.

Phan Thiet is a lovely little town today, with a thriving resort area up by Mui Ne Beach. There's one golf course, and another one coming, and talk of a new airport in the near future.

You can read about what's happening in Phan Thiet at www.muinebeach.net, check out my blog at fisheggtree.blogspot.com or read some of my recent Vietnam articles on ThingsAsian.com. Watch for a new guidebook from ThingsAsian at your local book store in spring 2008, called "To Vietnam With Love." I have 4 stories in the book about Phan Thiet.

Kind Regards
